TIBURON’S RAILROAD HISTORY – March 31, 7 p.m. – Town Hall

The Heritage and Arts Commission will be hosting a Belvedere-Tiburon Landmarks Society presentation of the history of the railroad in Tiburon.  From 1884 until 1965, much of downtown Tiburon was a railroad and ferry depot and maintenance facility.  Northwestern Pacific Railroad historian Fred Codoni will share many of his fine photos of the Tiburon yards and illuminate the history with personal stories and anecdotes.  Landmarks Society History Collections manager and H & A commissioner Dave Gotz will provide a short history of before the rails came to town, and an epilogue covering the nearly 20 years  it took to develop the abandoned rail -yard property.  This presentation is free and fine for all ages.  Follow this link for a preview: Railroad
