The Art and Tradition of Celebrating the Chinese New year:
An Image Illustrated Presentation
This lecture, presented by Sandra Chin, describes the celebration of Chinese New Year, which is also called the Spring Festival. Among the topics discussed are traditional symbols, flowers, foods, and activities for the Spring Festival from a historical and legendary perspective.
Ms. Chin is an Art History graduate from Berkeley University and is Adjunct Assistant Professor at Dominican University, in charge of Exhibitions since 1986. She is the author of several exhibition catalogs and served as cultural consultant for the film “Joy Luck Club.”
