Altered Book Workshop with Jaleh Etemad; September 20, 11-2

The Belvedere-Tiburon Library & Tiburon Artist Laureate, Jaleh Etemad:

Invite you to an entirely different and highly entertaining free presentation and hands-on workshop on Saturday, September 20th: 11-2 at the Library Founders Room.

You will learn how to give new life to old books by decorating them and creating a completely new work of art during an “Altered Book” Class.

Jaleh will give a short visual presentation with examples of Altered Book and Book Art (see example below) such as the ones that were displayed and bid upon in silent auction at the recent Marin Museum of Contemporary Art exhibition.

Then you will begin to evolve a Masterpiece of your own.

The Library will provide old books that are otherwise destined to be discarded.  Paints and some other supplies will be provided, as well as a list of suggested items that you might bring to personalize your art.

Contact Jaleh (415)233-2699 or jalehetemad@gmail.com to enroll in the workshop.
